Off Road Training

Off the road training is nothing a preliminary course in vehicle training. This kind of training is basic and compulsory for all those interested in riding a bicycle or driving a car without having anyone accompanying them on the vehicle. Once you complete the course, it is valid for a period of twenty four months. Drivers who are inexperienced in driving are the ones who are most prone to serious accidents and hence to get these accidents reduced on the road as well as off the road on 1st December 1990 the training course in off road maneuvering was introduced.

With the assistance of the ATB or the Approved Training Body as well as instructor for motorcycles who was qualified enough, various aspects of riding vehicles off the road and on the road were perfectly reviewed first. It was decided that if at all, before the 1st February 2001, a full license for riding a bicycle or driving a car was obtained then completion of the course is not at all necessary. This kind of a training allows moped and motorbike riders to own particular licenses to ride at varying speeds.

For a motorbike rider or car driver right from the age of 17, a provisional or a full license for the bike/car is provided up to 125 cc. On receiving training for off roads a moped rider is allowed to ride up to 50 cc from the age sixteen, but with a riders’ license of provisional nature.

Motorbike riders having a provisional license or car drivers having full license are able to attempt up to 125 cc and at the same time display the L plate without having the need for training in basics. Just as a car driver has to receive formal training in driving, in the same way a motorcycle rider too has to undergo training and learn riding skills for riding the bike on a public road.

If need be, those who are in the police sector, sport riders, freshers etc, are also taught techniques in riding off the road even if they have the license and necessary qualifications. Those interested in developing special skills of competitive nature for race tracking motor cycles, specialized training in riding off the road is also provided.

In different parts of Europe, CBT or Compulsory Basic Training is considered mandatory. Skills taught in the training can benefit almost anyone like the confident, and experienced and inexperienced, with the main aim being learning new techniques, developing necessary skills as well as confidence and definitely to have a good off road experience.

The course in off the road riding offers training at different levels ranging from level one to level three, including Level Enduro where extensive endurance training besides exposure to technical skills is also provided. By availing training in the course besides learning riding skills, the rider also learns techniques in maintaining the vehicle while traveling as well. Riders feel more efficient and more competent in taking decisions on different parts and tools to be carried in a much more practical way.
